iPhone Basic Functions: How to Replace the iPhone SIM Card

You're moving, you've got to change your number. Hi, I'm Rokosz, your Digital Lifestyle Expert, and I'm going to show you how to change or replace the SIM card in your iPhone. Before you do that, you need to get your hands on a very technical tool in order to access the iPhone SIM card receptical port. I'm sure you can order it online, or you can use 1 of my favorite technical tools, the common paper clip. Get it pointy and I'll show you how to use it. It's the only tool you'll ever need to do any maintenance on the iPhone.

All right, you'll find your SIM card compartment at the top of the iPhone. It's right next to the headphone jack. Use the paper clip and push it into the hole. That releases the SIM card. Slide out the SIM card-the SIM card is the brain of the iPhone. Flip the card out of the bracket to remove it.

To insert a new SIM card, match the notches at the top of the SIM card and the holding bracket and place the SIM card in the holding bracket. The copper interface on the SIM card should be facing up. Gently slide the SIM card into the iPhone until it's flush with the top of the iPhone. Once it's locked in the iPhone all you have to do is turn it back on and you've got a whole new SIM card.

Unboxing the Apple iPhone 3G

Hi, I'm Rokosz, your Digital Lifestyle Expert, and I want to share with you perhaps one of the coolest gadgets that's come across my desk in a long time. It's the iPhone 3G by Apple. I want to share with you the excitement that I had when I 1st opened up this bad boy. So let's take a look at what's inside the box.

The 1st thing that you're going to notice is how cool and sleek the iPhone box is. As far as boxes and packaging go this is 1st rate. Let's open up the box. I've had to take the iPhone out before so you won't see the piece of plastic that makes removing the iPhone from the box easy. The iPhone pops up out of the box. Apple is known for not wasting packaging , using every bit of space. Pull on the tab to expose the gadgets that come with the iPhone. You have the new redesigned plug so it can go directly into the wall and it's about half the size of the old plug. On the back side of the plug is a USB jack which is for the iPhone adapter.

The neatest thing here are the headphones. There is a little microphone inserted in the headphone cable. It's also a micro switch so you can answer calls by squeezing it.

Taking it out of the box is only the beginning of the fun that you'll have with the iPhone for 3G by Apple. It will be an indispensable part of your daily routine-checking email, seeing where you are in the world, GPS. But it all begins with taking the unit out of the box. How to Use the Notes Function on the Apple iPhone

A gallon of milk, a carton of eggs, and a stick of butter. Hi, I'm Rokosz, your Digital Lifestyle Expert and I'm going to show you how to use your Notes function inside of your iPhone. So you never have to forget those little things on the grocery list again.

Like always, we're going to start by pushing the home key, sliding to unlock it, and it's this app right here called Notes-the icon looks like a little legal pad. Let's review the interface 1st. Launch the app and you see a list of the notes that you've saved. I've got a note on a wireless router and a note on some software keys. When you open a note you'll see at the top of the screen the date and time that it was created and you can now put the note in the trash or use another page.

Tap anywhere on the page of a note to begin typing. I use notes to make grocery lists and little bits of information that don't need to appear anywhere else, but just on a little note. When you finish entering information, tap the Done button to close the note. Tap the mail icon to send the note to yourself or someone else. And it's just that simple.

Everybody needs a place to put their stuff, little digital sticky pads if you will. I like it a lot. 1 thing to keep in mind is that when you connect the iPhone to the computer it does back up your notes information but it doesn't import the notes into any program that you can use to edit. So it you make a note out in the field and you need to use it in a word processing or database program, go ahead and email it to yourself.

How to Transfer Music and Videos to the iPhone

Hi, I'm Rokosz, your Digital Lifestyle Expert, and I'm going to show you how to get your music and videos onto your iPhone. The 1st thing you've got to keep in mind for transferring your music, your videos, your podcasts, your ringtones-it's all using iTunes as the portal. We're going to go inside of iTunes and I'll show you how that works.

Here we can see that we've got a representation of my music library. We're going to go to the devices and click on iPhone. Most of the settings for the iPhone are represented as tabs across the top of the page. Click on the Music tab. If you have music videos associated with it simply click on Include Music Videos. If you need to save space, then you might want to deselect that.

Click on the Video tab. You want to sync all unwatched episodes of, for example, TV Shows. Or you can select All TV Shows. Depending on your library, the videos could consume a lot of space. You can transfer rented movies if you have them, and regular movies. After you've made the selections that you like, click on the Apply button. Now you will see that the sync is in progress. Now television shows, major motion pictures, music videos, are being copies right into the iPhone in just a few minutes. When the sync is finished, you can pull it off the cradle and walk out to do what I please-watch my favorite TV shows, watch a movie, watch music videos. It's so awesome, it just is.
